Cast Iron Skillets, and why every kitchen should have one…or two
Cast iron skillets used to be a staple in every kitchen for generations! Cherished for its durability and versatile cooking capabilities. Infact, I grew up thinking you could only cook fried chicken in a cast iron skillet! Somewhere along the way this skillet has gotten a bad name…maybe thought of as high maintenance. But that is just not true!
The beauty of a cast iron skillet is its ability to distribute heat evenly. Giving perfect results whether you are frying, baking or simmering.
The cast Iron skillet also retains heat. Once heated, the cast iron retains heat for a long time. Keeping dishes warm is always helpful!
A cast Iron skillet is also a natural non-stick surface. As cast iron is seasoned (coated with a layer of oil and baked), it develops a natural non-stick surface that improves over time…now that’s impressive!
I wanted several different sizes of a cast iron skillet. I got these from Amazon. The come in a set of 3. 6″, 8″ and 10″. The smaller one is perfect for this S’more Dip! Here is my Amazon Affiliate link to this cast iron set. https://amzn.to/3qCycbn
