This smoked queso dip recipe takes your regular cheese dip up a notch! A friend of mine who shares his latest grill recipes with me, shared this smoked queso dip a few years ago. It has been a staple to my party menu list ever since. Although, it is not forgiving of my waistline. This cheese dip is loaded with flavor, making it worth the calorie splurge! Along with being delicious to eat, this smoked cheese dip is easy to make! Add all the ingredients, place in a disposable foil pan, and put it on the smoker! How to make this dip

This smoked queso dip is so easy to make, soon all your friends will be making it. This is what I use. A block of Velveeta Cheese, cubed, half a white onion, 2 cans Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, 1lb of sausage or ground beef, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, jalapeno and a tablespoon of your favorite grill seasoning. I love this rub seasoning from Amazon, Holy Cow. https://amzn.to/3pqarCD You can add different types of cheese to this smoked queso dip. Add more spice or take some of the spice out. Cilantro, green, red peppers, garlic, the choices are endless. Just make it your own.

Place all ingredients in a foil pan and smoke at 250 for 2 hours. Stir the cheese dip midway through to mix everything together. I serve it with a salty chip and watch it disappear. This smoke queso dip feeds a crowd. It is perfect for a fall tailgate, or a summer BBQ. If you are lucky enough to have any queso left over. Use it to drizzle over a baked potato or add to a hotdog.

I would love to hear what you think of this recipe and what you do to make it your own!

  1. How do you think this would do baked in the oven if I don’t have a smoker?

    1. You can absolutely make this Queso dip in the oven. Preheat oven to 375 degrees place in oven for about 20 minutes. Stirring halfway through.
You can also make this in the crockpot.
The only drawback to these 2 methods is you lose the smokey flavor. But let’s face it, all the other ingredients, combined with a salty chip I’m not sure you will mind!
